Women Outdoors Classes
ALL classes are for women taught by women. Please NO kids, must be 18 years or older to attend. Consider this a girls night out.
ALL classes are held on the second Thursday of the month from April – September time is 6:00pm – 8:00pm.
These are hands on classes learning and sharing new skills in the outdoors. ALL equipment is provided for the classes. Registration is required for ALL classes so we can be sure to have enough supplies.

April 13 – Blooms & Blossoms – Location: Current River State Park – Lodge Kitchen
Spring wild flowers and trees are in bloom and looking so beautiful. BUT did you know that you can eat most of them or make jelly? Let’s make a huge salad for supper strait from the front yard and use some of those pretty flowers to make some pretty cookies for dessert.
May 11 – Bird Watching Basics – Location: Echo Bluff State Park – Bluff Top
Do you enjoy watching birds at your feeder? Do you want to learn more than the iconic Cardinal or Chickadee? Or just want some tips on being a better birder then this is the class for you. Let’s go birding! We will take a short walk around the area to see if we can see some birds. Bring your binoculars, don’t have any not a problem we have you covered! Field guides will also be available.
June 8 – Dutch Oven Cooking – Location: Echo Bluff State Park – Bluff Top
We are taking Dutch oven cooking to the next level. We will be making some old standards and some new and exciting dishes in this class. Something for everyone! **When registering please note any special dietary needs we will do our best to have at least one dish that you can enjoy.
July 13 – Kayaking – Location: Current River State Park – Lower Lake
In this class plan on getting wet and have some fun! Bring a snack and enjoy it while we learn some kayak basics and paddle around the lower lake learning about the history of the park and hopefully get to see some wildlife as well. If you have a life jacket bring it if not we have you covered. ** Class is limited to 10 participants.
August 10 – Wild Spa Night – Location: Current River state Park – Lodge
Ladies TREAT yourself to a “Wild Spa Night” learn how to make a verity of teas that are tasty and easy to make and can be made from plants found in the “wild”! Make your own facial scrub, as well as body scrubs. OH what fun!
September 14 – Survival Skills – Location: Echo Bluff State Park – Bluff Top
Have you ever heard of the Rule of 3? Or ever want to learn how to build a fire without a lighter or a match? Well this is the class for you! We will be starting a fire without a lighter or a match! If the fire is big enough we might even roast a marshmallow or two.
